These are hourly coaching sessions for writers (adults or students) who want to move forward – whether that means improving your skills, organizing your thoughts into a book, or helping you with goals and accountability to actually get the writing done. You can do more than you think you can! I’d love to coach you through it.
Individual coaching sessions occur either in person or over the phone, in weekly or biweekly sessions, and I will contact you within two business days of your purchase to arrange a time that fits both of our schedules. Want to save money and learn with a friend? Use the bring-a-buddy option (all parties must purchase before we set our schedule and start meeting). This option is only available locally, and we will meet at a coffee shop or library.
Before each session, you’ll email your document(s) to me so I can review it ahead of time. During our session, we’ll go over it together – looking at style, technique, mechanics, and voice. We’ll clarify your goals and focus on the next step to meeting those goals. I’ll help you learn which grammatical rules can be broken (and how), and I’ll share resources with you to help you learn how to edit your own work. And, there’s no avoiding it…we’ll probably comisserate over the agony of deciding where commas go.
You’ll get a clear, objective perspective on work that you’ve written and rewritten so many times it makes you dizzy. You’ll have help navigating the often overwhelming maze of writing projects. And you’ll get constructive feedback and tips to help you self-edit and improve your writing skill while also maintaining and refining your personal voice and style. And, for students…you’ll get help earning your high school English credits, and you’ll have more fun doing it.
In full disclosure, there are some things I cannot or will not do. They include a) helping with book proposals, b) guiding you through traditional publishing, c) micromanaging you, and d) dancing the macarena.
Not sure if this is what you need? Email me with WRITING COACH in the subject line to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.
