What I haven’t figured out yet is how to make sure I do enough wise preparation but not do it with a spirit of fear. I can’t seem to separate the two.
It can be hard to separate them…praying for clarity and wisdom for you as you seek His word on each situation…I need it too…
Shannon, have you read the book “The Fear Fix” from Sarah Chanah Radcliffe? someone just posted this on fb, it is more about helping children with fear. http://www.aish.com/f/p/Helping-Children-Overcome-Fear.html?mobile=yes. Interesting article. I think for me the hard part is moving our loved ones to not have fear even with prayer it can take time. But our Father is Good, and prayers are answered.
I haven’t read it but I’ll look into it! Thanks for the link, friend!
I have read that verse, memorized that verse, quoted that verse, prayed that verse, and shared that verse… and all without seeing the importance of “spirit of fear”… My heart knew it – for I cling to this verse, but my mind? Thanks for pouring yourself out in these posts!
Shannon, we watched a movie last night called After Earth with Will Smith and the basis and message of this movie is all about what you’ve written here. Seems to be a theme lately. Ya think maybe God is trying to tell me something? ;)
Here’s a quote from the movie. Will Smith’s character is speaking to his son…
“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice.”
I haven’t seen that movie yet! I guess I’ll have to…I’m hearing the same theme, too.
